Psalm 118:23-29New International Version (NIV)

23 the Lord has done this,
    and it is marvelous in our eyes.
24 The Lord has done it this very day;
    let us rejoice today and be glad.

25 Lord, save us!
    Lord, grant us success!

26 Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.
    From the house of the Lord we bless you.[a]
27 The Lord is God,
    and he has made his light shine on us.
With boughs in hand, join in the festal procession

    up[b] to the horns of the altar.

28 You are my God, and I will praise you;
    you are my God, and I will exalt you.

29 Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good;
    his love endures forever.

Mark 4:1-9

The Parable of the Sower

Again Jesus began to teach by the lake. The crowd that gathered around him was so large that he got into a boat and sat in it out on the lake, while all the people were along the shore at the water’s edge. He taught them many things by parables, and in his teaching said: “Listen! A farmer went out to sow his seed. As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up. Some fell on rocky places, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly, because the soil was shallow. But when the sun came up, the plants were scorched, and they withered because they had no root. Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up and choked the plants, so that they did not bear grain. Still other seed fell on good soil. It came up, grew and produced a crop, some multiplying thirty, some sixty, some a hundred times.”

Then Jesus said, “Whoever has ears to hear, let them hear.”

Jeremiah 23:24-29

24 Who can hide in secret places
    so that I cannot see them?”
declares the Lord.

    “Do not I fill heaven and earth?”
declares the Lord.

25 “I have heard what the prophets say who prophesy lies in my name. They say, ‘I had a dream! I had a dream!’ 26 How long will this continue in the hearts of these lying prophets, who prophesy the delusions of their own minds? 27 They think the dreams they tell one another will make my people forget my name, just as their ancestors forgot my name through Baal worship. 28 Let the prophet who has a dream recount the dream, but let the one who has my word speak it faithfully. For what has straw to do with grain?” declares the Lord. 29 “Is not my word like fire,” declares the Lord, “and like a hammer that breaks a rock in pieces?

In the days of the Prophet Jeremiah there were also false prophets. They talked about their dreams rather than the Word of God. This is true today. There are so many different churches and many different preachers. Let us be careful. Let us not just accept every new teaching and doctrine which we hear. The words of these preachers many be appealing but are they preaching the true Word of God? Let us keep checking with the Bible and pray for the Holy Spirit  to  give us wisdom and discernment  so that we are not deceived.

WAZO KUU: NENO LA MUNGU LINA NGUVU

Zaburi 118:23-29, Marko 4:1-9, Yeremia 23:24-29

Zaburi 118:23-29

25 Ee Bwana, utuokoe, twakusihi; Ee Bwana, utufanikishe, twakusihi.
27 Bwana ndiye aliye Mungu, Naye ndiye aliyetupa nuru. Ifungeni dhabihu kwa kamba Pembeni mwa madhabahu.
28 Ndiwe Mungu wangu, nami nitakushukuru, Ndiwe Mungu wangu, nami nitakutukuza.

3 Sikilizeni; Tazama, mpanzi alitoka kwenda kupanda;
4 ikawa alipokuwa akipanda, mbegu nyingine ilianguka kando ya njia, wakaja ndege wakaila.
5 Nyingine ikaanguka penye mwamba, pasipokuwa na udongo mwingi; mara ikaota kwa kuwa na udongo haba;
7 Nyingine ikaanguka penye miiba; ile miiba ikamea ikaisonga, isizae matunda.

Asema Bwana. Je! Mbingu na nchi hazikujawa nami? Asema Bwana.
25 Nimesikia waliyoyasema manabii wanaotabiri uongo kwa jina langu, wakisema, Nimeota ndoto; nimeota ndoto.
26 Je!
