THEME: THE USE OF THE TONGUE

Psalm  52,  luke 6:43-45, proverbs 10:31-32

Psalm 52[a]

For the director of music. A maskil[b] of David. When Doeg the Edomite had gone to Saul and told him: “David has gone to the house of Ahimelek.”

Why do you boast of evil, you mighty hero?
    Why do you boast all day long,
    you who are a disgrace in the eyes of God?
You who practice deceit,
    your tongue plots destruction;
    it is like a sharpened razor.
You love evil rather than good,
    falsehood rather than speaking the truth.[c]
You love every harmful word,
    you deceitful tongue!

Surely God will bring you down to everlasting ruin:
    He will snatch you up and pluck you from your tent;
    he will uproot you from the land of the living.
The righteous will see and fear;
    they will laugh at you, saying,
“Here now is the man
    who did not make God his stronghold
but trusted in his great wealth
    and grew strong by destroying others!”

But I am like an olive tree
    flourishing in the house of God;
I trust in God’s unfailing love
    for ever and ever.
For what you have done I will always praise you
    in the presence of your faithful people.
And I will hope in your name,
    for your name is good.

Luke 6:43-45  New International Version (NIV)

A Tree and Its Fruit

43 “No good tree bears bad fruit, nor does a bad tree bear good fruit.44 Each tree is recognized by its own fruit. People do not pick figs from thornbushes, or grapes from briers. 45 A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of.

Proverbs 10:31-32New International Version (NIV)

31 From the mouth of the righteous comes the fruit of wisdom,
    but a perverse tongue will be silenced.

32 The lips of the righteous know what finds favor,
    but the mouth of the wicked only what is perverse.

We all speak many words every day. We speak to God and we speak to people. Are our words pleasing to God? May God help us to think before we speak and to listen well. May our words be a blessing to others and honoring to God.

JUMAPILI TAREHE 3 SEPTEMBA 2017 SIKU YA BWANA YA 12 BAADA YA UTATU

WAZO KUU: MATUMIZI YA ULIMI

Zaburi 52, Luka 6:43-45, Mithali 10:31-32

Zaburi 52

1 Kwa nini kujisifia uovu, Ewe jabari? Wema wa Mungu upo sikuzote.
Ulimi wako watunga madhara, Kama wembe mkali, Ewe mwenye hila
Umependa mabaya kuliko mema, Na uongo kuliko kusema kweli.
Nao wenye haki wataona; Wataingiwa na hofu na kumcheka;
Kumbe!

Luka 6:43-45

43 Kwa maana hakuna mti mzuri uzaao matunda mabaya, wala mti mbaya uzaao matunda mazuri;

Tunasema maneno mengi kila siku.
