Joshua 1:1-7 New International Version (NIV)
1 After the death of Moses the servant of the Lord, the Lord said to Joshua son of Nun, Moses’ aide: 2 “Moses my servant is dead. Now then, you and all these people, get ready to cross the Jordan River into the land I am about to give to them—to the Israelites. 3 I will give you every place where you set your foot, as I promised Moses. 4 Your territory will extend from the desert to Lebanon, and from the great river, the Euphrates—all the Hittite country—to the Mediterranean Sea in the west. 5 No one will be able to stand against you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you. 6 Be strong and courageous, because you will lead these people to inherit the land I swore to their ancestors to give them.
7 “Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go.
God has given us a great provision; His own word - the Bible - the book of His Scriptures, written and recorded for us. He calls us to speak the words of His book continually, think of them regularly, and to follow them faithfully. If we make use of His provision in this way, He makes the promise that our way will be prosperous, and that we will be successful. God certainly is the one who makes the way prosperous; but God also puts the responsibility on us, to obey His law; that is reading and living according to the scripture.

YOSHUA 1:1-7
1 Ikawa baada ya kufa kwake Musa, mtumishi wa Bwana, Bwana akamwambia Yoshua, mwana wa Nuni, mtumishi wa Musa, akasema,
2 Musa mtumishi wangu amekufa; haya basi, ondoka, vuka mto huu wa Yordani; wewe na watu hawa wote, mkaende hata nchi niwapayo wana wa Israeli.
3 Kila mahali zitakapopakanyaga nyayo za miguu yenu, nimewapa ninyi, kama nilivyomwapia Musa.
4 Tangu jangwa hili na mlima huu, Lebanoni, mpaka mto ule mkubwa, mto wa Frati, nchi yote ya Wahiti, tena mpaka bahari ile kubwa upande wa machweo ya jua, hapo ndipo patakapokuwa mpaka wenu.
5 Hapatakuwa mtu ye yote atakayeweza kusimama mbele yako siku zote za maisha yako; kama nilivyokuwa pamoja na Musa, ndivyo nitakavyokuwa pamoja na wewe; sitakupungukia wala sitakuacha.
6 Uwe hodari na moyo wa ushujaa, maana ni wewe utakayewarithisha watu hawa nchi hii niliyowaapia baba zao ya kwamba nitawapa.
7 Uwe hodari tu na ushujaa mwingi, uangalie kutenda sawasawa na sheria yote aliyokuamuru Musa mtumishi wangu; usiiache, kwenda mkono wa kuume, au wa kushoto, upate kufanikiwa sana kila uendako.
Mungu ametupa hitaji muhimu; neno lake, Biblia, ambayo ni kitabu cha maandiko matakatifu, kilichoandikwa na kutunzwa kwa ajili yetu. Yeye anapenda tuseme, tufikiri na kutenda kwa uaminifu kila wakati sawasawa na neno lake. Ikiwa tutalitumia neno lake kwa njia hii, anahidi kuwa tutafanikiwa katika njia zetu, na kwamba mafanikio hayo yatakuwa ni mema. Kwa hakika Mungu ndiye anayefanikisha njia zetu; hata hivyo anatupa wajibu wa kufanya, kuishika sheria yake, yaani kulisoma na kuliishi neno lake.
