1 Wakorintho 2:1-5

2 Maana naliazimu nisijue neno lo lote kwenu ila Yesu Kristo, naye amesulibiwa.

Mungu mmoja; Baba, Mwana na Roho Mtakatifu;

Bwana Asifiwe;

Siku njema.

1 Corinthians 2:1-5

1 And so it was with me, brothers and sisters. When I came to you, I did not come with eloquence or human wisdom as I proclaimed to you the testimony about God.[a] For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified. I came to you in weakness with great fear and trembling. My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power, so that your faith might not rest on human wisdom, but on God’s power.

  1. 1 Corinthians 2:1 Some manuscripts proclaimed to you God’s mystery

One God; Father, Son and Holy Spirit;

Praise the lord;

The apostle Paul writes to the Corinthians that in proclaiming Christ, he did not use his words or wisdom. He had to know first about the crucified Jesus.

The apostle Paul admits that he did not use his power to persuade people about Christ, but that the power of the Holy Spirit helped him. He exhorts the Corinthians that their faith should not be in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.

This is the call we are given this morning that our Faith should not be in our minds, but in the power of God. Our life and work should be based on God and not our intellect, that is, we should be led by one God, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Good day.
