MONDAY 2ND DESEMBER 2019 MORNING NAHUM 1:9-14
Nahum 1:9-14 New International Version (NIV)
9 Whatever they plot against the Lord
he will bring[a] to an end;
trouble will not come a second time.
10 They will be entangled among thorns
and drunk from their wine;
they will be consumed like dry stubble.[b]
11 From you, Nineveh, has one come forth
who plots evil against the Lord
and devises wicked plans.
12 This is what the Lord says:
“Although they have allies and are numerous,
they will be destroyed and pass away.
Although I have afflicted you, Judah,
I will afflict you no more.
13 Now I will break their yoke from your neck
and tear your shackles away.”
14 The Lord has given a command concerning you, Nineveh:
“You will have no descendants to bear your name.
I will destroy the images and idols
that are in the temple of your gods.
I will prepare your grave,
for you are vile.”
Although God’s people may look weak and afflicted, yet God promises that He will strengthen and restore them. The power of their oppressors will be broken.

NAHUMU 1:9-14
9 Mnawaza nini juu ya Bwana? Yeye atakomesha kabisa; mateso hayatainuka mara ya pili.
10 Kwa maana wangawa kama miiba iliyotatana, na kunyweshwa kana kwamba ni katika kunywa kwao, wataliwa kabisa kama mabua makavu.
11 Ametoka mmoja kwako, aniaye mabaya juu ya Bwana, atoaye mashauri yasiyofaa kitu.
12 Bwana asema hivi, Ijapokuwa wana nguvu zilizo timilifu, ijapokuwa ni wengi, hata hivyo watakatwa, naye atapita na kwenda zake. Ingawa nimekutesa, sitakutesa tena.
13 Na sasa nitakuvunjia nira yake, nami nitakupasulia mafungo yako.
14 Tena Bwana ametoa amri katika habari zako, ya kwamba asipandwe tena mtu awaye yote mwenye jina lako; toka nyumba ya miungu yako nitakatilia mbali sanamu ya kuchora, na sanamu ya kuyeyusha; nitakufanyia kaburi lako; kwa maana u mbovu.
Ingawa watu wa Mungu wanaweza kuonekana kuwa wadhaifu na walioteswa, Yeye anaahidi kuwa atawapa nguvu na kuwahuisha. Nguvu ya watesi wao itavunjwa.
