Hosea 11:8-11
8 Niwezeje kukuacha, Efraimu? Niwezeje kukuponya, Israeli? Niwezeje kukufanya kama Adma? Niwezeje kukuweka kama Seboimu? Moyo wangu umegeuka ndani yangu, huruma zangu zimewaka pamoja.
9 Sitatumia ukali wa hasira yangu, sitarudi kumwangamiza Efraimu; kwa maana mimi ni Mungu, si mwanadamu mimi; mimi ndiye aliye Mtakatifu katikati yenu; wala sitaingia ndani ya mji.
10 Watakwenda kumfuata BWANA, atakayenguruma kama simba; kwa maana atanguruma, nao watoto watakuja kutoka magharibi wakitetemeka.
11 Watakuja wakitetemeka kama shomoro, toka Misri, na kama hua, toka nchi ya Ashuru; nami nitawakalisha katika nyumba zao, asema BWANA.
Huruma ya Mungu;
Ni ujumbe wa Mungu kuhusu huruma kwa Israeli, akionesha kuwa hawezi kuwaacha. Anasema kutotumia ukali wa hasira yake kuwaangamiza Israeli, akionesha kuwa yeye ni Mungu Mtakatifu mwenye huruma.
Hii ndiyo tabia ya Mungu, yaani huruma kwa watoto wake. Hata sisi hajatuacha kamwe! Yeye ameahidi kutulinda na kutuponya, basi nasi tusiondoke kwake, maana ndipo penye usalama.

THURSDAY 23RD SEPTEMBER 2021, MORNING.
Hosea 11:8-11 (NIV)
8 “How can I give you up, Ephraim?
How can I hand you over, Israel?
How can I treat you like Admah?
How can I make you like Zeboyim?
My heart is changed within me;
all my compassion is aroused.
9 I will not carry out my fierce anger,
nor will I devastate Ephraim again.
For I am God, and not a man—
the Holy One among you.
I will not come against their cities.
10 They will follow the Lord;
he will roar like a lion.
When he roars,
his children will come trembling from the west.
11 They will come from Egypt,
trembling like sparrows,
from Assyria, fluttering like doves.
I will settle them in their homes,”
declares the Lord.
God's mercy;
In the above text, we see God's message of compassion for Israel, showing that he cannot abandon them. He says he will not use the fierceness of his wrath to destroy Israel, showing that he is a merciful Holy God.
This is God's character, that is, compassion for His children. Even we have never left! He has promised to protect and heal us, so let us not leave him, for there is safety.
