Proverbs 11:8-11 (Mithali 11:8-11)

TUESDAY 21ST AUGUST 2018 MORNING

Proverbs 11:8-11 New International Version (NIV)

The righteous person is rescued from trouble,
and it falls on the wicked instead.

With their mouths the godless destroy their neighbors,
but through knowledge the righteous escape.

10 When the righteous prosper, the city rejoices;
when the wicked perish, there are shouts of joy.

11 Through the blessing of the upright a city is exalted,
but by the mouth of the wicked it is destroyed.

This week we have the theme “ The use of the tongue”. We speak many words every day. Let us think about the words we speak. Our words reflect what is in our hearts. Notice the effect of bad words mentioned in verse 8 and 11 above.

Let us seek instead to be lead by the Holy Spirit so that our words and deeds honour God and bring blessings to other people.

MITHALI 11:8-11

10 Wenye haki wasitawipo, mji hufurahi; Waovu waangamiapo, watu hupiga kelele.
