Nahum 1:2-8 New International Version (NIV)
The Lord’s Anger Against Nineveh
2 The Lord is a jealous and avenging God;
the Lord takes vengeance and is filled with wrath.
The Lord takes vengeance on his foes
and vents his wrath against his enemies.
3 The Lord is slow to anger but great in power;
the Lord will not leave the guilty unpunished.
His way is in the whirlwind and the storm,
and clouds are the dust of his feet.
4 He rebukes the sea and dries it up;
he makes all the rivers run dry.
Bashan and Carmel wither
and the blossoms of Lebanon fade.
5 The mountains quake before him
and the hills melt away.
The earth trembles at his presence,
the world and all who live in it.
6 Who can withstand his indignation?
Who can endure his fierce anger?
His wrath is poured out like fire;
the rocks are shattered before him.
7 The Lord is good,
a refuge in times of trouble.
He cares for those who trust in him,
8 but with an overwhelming flood
he will make an end of Nineveh;
he will pursue his foes into the realm of darkness.
God is powerful. He is the one who created and sustains the world. Our lives are in His hands. God is angry with sinners and those who oppose Him. Yet God is gracious to those who repent and those who call upon Him in time of need.
Don’t be an enemy of God. Turn to Him. Repent your sins. Trust your life into His gracious care.

Nahumu 1:2-8
2 Bwana ni Mungu mwenye wivu, naye hujilipiza kisasi; Bwana hujilipiza kisasi, naye ni mwingi wa hasira; Bwana hujilipiza kisasi juu ya adui zake, huwawekea adui zake akiba ya hasira.
3 Bwana si mwepesi wa hasira, ana uweza mwingi, wala hatamhesabia mtu mwovu kuwa hana hatia kamwe; Bwana ana njia yake katika kisulisuli na tufani, na mawingu ni mavumbi ya miguu yake.
4 Yeye huikemea bahari na kuikausha, pia huikausha mito yote; Bashani hulegea, na Karmeli; hulegea nalo ua la Lebanoni.
5 Milima hutetema mbele zake, navyo vilima huyeyuka; nayo dunia huinuliwa mbele za uso wake, naam, dunia na wote wakaao ndani yake.
6 Ni nani awezaye kusimama mbele za ghadhabu yake, naye ni nani awezaye kukaa katika ukali wa hasira yake? Hasira yake kali humwagwa kama moto, nayo majabali yapasuliwa na yeye.
7 Bwana ni mwema, ni ngome siku ya taabu; naye huwajua hao wamkimbiliao.
8 Lakini kwa gharika ifurikayo atapakomesha kabisa mahali pake, na kuwafuatia adui zake hata gizani.
Mungu ni mwenye nguvu. Mungu aliumba dunia na anatunza uumbaji wake wote. Mungu ana hasira dhidi yao ambao wanampinga, lakini anawahurumia watu ambao wanatubu dhambi zao. Mungu yupo tayari kuwasaidia wahitaji.
Tusimpinge Mungu. Tubu dhambi zako na umtegemea Mungu katika maisha yako yote.
