Mathayo 21:12-17

12 Yesu akaingia ndani ya hekalu, akawafukuza wote waliokuwa wakiuza na kununua hekaluni, akazipindua meza za wabadili fedha, na viti vyao waliokuwa wakiuza njiwa;

Walikasirika,

16 wakamwambia, Wasikia hawa wasemavyo? Yesu akawaambia, Naam; hamkupata kusoma, Kwa vinywa vya watoto wachanga na wanyonyao umekamilisha sifa?

17 Akawaacha, akatoka nje ya mji mpaka Bethania, akalala huko.

Mwenye haki ataishi kwa imani;

Siku njema

Matthew 21:12-17 NIV

Jesus at the Temple

12 Jesus entered the temple courts and drove out all who were buying and selling there. He overturned the tables of the money changers and the benches of those selling doves. 13 “It is written,” he said to them, “‘My house will be called a house of prayer,’[a] but you are making it ‘a den of robbers.’[b]

14 The blind and the lame came to him at the temple, and he healed them. 15 But when the chief priests and the teachers of the law saw the wonderful things he did and the children shouting in the temple courts, “Hosanna to the Son of David,” they were indignant.

16 “Do you hear what these children are saying?” they asked him.

“Yes,” replied Jesus, “have you never read,

“‘From the lips of children and infants
    you, Lord, have called forth your praise’[c]?”

17 And he left them and went out of the city to Bethany, where he spent the night.

The righteous just shall live by faith;

In the practice of offering to God, the Jews had a system of exchanging items for money, so that believers could have money to offer in the temple. But it got to the point where it turned into a temple business. Jesus was not pleased with this, and he upturned the tables in the temple.

It is possible for some of us to go to church habitually. That is, we see the Church as any other place!

But more than that, we are living a life of habit. We see sin as normal! We are made in God's image. To see sin as normal is the same as to make the house of God a den of robbers. Jesus will disown us.

Make changes in your life, be a witness to the glory of God. The Church being a house of prayer is a guide for us to live by God's word, prayer and acts of mercy. Where does your soul stand in this?

Good day
