TUESDAY 15TH DECEMBER 2020 MORNING
Luke 1:57-66 New International Version (NIV)
57 When it was time for Elizabeth to have her baby, she gave birth to a son. 58 Her neighbors and relatives heard that the Lord had shown her great mercy, and they shared her joy.
59 On the eighth day they came to circumcise the child, and they were going to name him after his father Zechariah, 60 but his mother spoke up and said, “No! He is to be called John.”
61 They said to her, “There is no one among your relatives who has that name.”
62 Then they made signs to his father, to find out what he would like to name the child. 63 He asked for a writing tablet, and to everyone’s astonishment he wrote, “His name is John.” 64 Immediately his mouth was opened and his tongue set free, and he began to speak, praising God. 65 All the neighbors were filled with awe, and throughout the hill country of Judea people were talking about all these things. 66 Everyone who heard this wondered about it, asking, “What then is this child going to be?” For the Lord’s hand was with him.
If you are God’s child, no question that God has purposes for your adversity for your good, for His glory and for your growth in grace.

57 Ikawa, siku za kuzaa kwake Elisabeti zilipotimia, alizaa mtoto mwanamume.
58 Wakasikia jirani zake na jamaa zake ya kwamba Bwana amemwongezea rehema zake, wakafurahi pamoja naye.
59 Ikawa siku ya nane wakaja kumtahiri mtoto; wakataka kumpa jina la babaye, Zakaria.
60 Mamaye akajibu akasema La, sivyo; bali, ataitwa Yohana.
61 Wakamwambia, Hapana mtu katika jamaa zako aitwaye jina hilo.
62 Wakamwashiria babaye wajue atakavyo kumwita.
63 Akataka kibao, akaandika ya kwamba, Jina lake ni Yohana. Wakastaajabu wote.
64 Papo hapo kinywa chake kikafunguliwa na ulimi wake pia, akaanza kunena akimsifu Mungu.
65 Wakaingiwa na hofu wote waliokuwa wakikaa karibu nao; na mambo hayo yote yakatangazwa katika nchi yote ya milima milima ya Uyahudi.
66 Na wote walioyasikia wakayaweka mioyoni mwao, wakisema, Mtoto huyu atakuwa wa namna gani? Kwa sababu mkono wa Bwana ulikuwa pamoja naye.
Ikiwa wewe ni mtoto wa Mungu, unayo hakika kwamba Mungu analo kusudi katika magumu unayopitia na anakuwazia mema; kwa utukufu wake na kwa ajili ya ukuaji wako katika neema yake.
