THURSDAY 22ND AUGUST 2019 MORNING
John 5:39-42 New International Version (NIV)
39 You study[a] the Scriptures diligently because you think that in them you have eternal life. These are the very Scriptures that testify about me, 40 yet you refuse to come to me to have life.
41 “I do not accept glory from human beings, 42 but I know you. I know that you do not have the love of God in your hearts.

This is part of a discussion between Jesus and Jewish Religious leaders. The Jewish Scriptures, which Christians call The Old Testament , contain prophecies about the Messiah. Jesus fulfilled all these prophecies but the Pharisees and other Jewish leaders refused to accept Him as the Messiah.
Pray that Jewish people today would see the Gospel message as a fulfillment of their faith.

39 Mwayachunguza maandiko, kwa sababu mnadhani kwamba ninyi mna uzima wa milele ndani yake; na hayo ndiyo yanayonishuhudia.
40 Wala hamtaki kuja kwangu mpate kuwa na uzima.
41 Mimi siupokei utukufu kwa wanadamu.
42 Walakini nimewajua ninyi ya kuwa hamna upendo wa Mungu ndani yenu.
