JUMAMOSI TAREHE 2 OKTOBA 2021, ASUBUHI
1 Wafalme 12:8-11
8 Lakini akaliacha shauri lile la wazee, walilompa, akataka shauri kwa wale vijana waliokua pamoja naye, na kusimama mbele yake.
9 Akawaambia, Mwanipa shauri gani ili tuwajibu watu hawa, waliosema nami, wakinena Utufanyie jepesi kongwa lile alilotutwika baba yako?
10 Na wale vijana waliokua pamoja naye wakamwambia, wakasema, Uwaambie hivi watu wale waliokuambia, wakisema, Baba yako alilifanya zito kongwa letu, bali wewe utufanyie jepesi, uwaambie hivi, Kidole changu cha mwisho ni kinene kuliko kiuno cha baba yangu.
11 Basi kama vile baba yangu alivyowatwika kongwa zito, mimi nitaongeza kongwa lenu; baba yangu aliwapiga kwa mijeledi, bali mimi nitawapigeni kwa nge.
Uchaguzi wa busara;
Baada ya ushauri wa wazee (angalia somo la jana jioni) Rehoboamu hakuufuata ushauri huo. Aliwauliza vijana waliosimama mbele yake waliomshauri kuongeza kongwa la utumwa kwa hao watu.
Tunapoishi tunakutana na changamoto mbalimbali, ambazo tunahitaji neema ya Mungu kuzitatua. Na katika kuzitatua, ni muhimu kuamua kwa busara juu ya changamoto husika. Wasikilize watu tofauti kwa maoni na ushauri, tafuta uzoefu, lakini kubwa kuliko yote omba kuongozwa na Bwana kufikia maamuzi sahihi.

1 Kings 12:8-11 (NIV)
8 But Rehoboam rejectedt the advice the elders gave him and consulted the young men who had grown up with him and were serving him. 9 He asked them, “What is your advice? How should we answer these people who say to me, ‘Lighten the yoke your father put on us’?”
10 The young men who had grown up with him replied, “These people have said to you, ‘Your father put a heavy yoke on us, but make our yoke lighter.’ Now tell them, ‘My little finger is thicker than my father’s waist. 11 My father laid on you a heavy yoke; I will make it even heavier. My father scourged you with whips; I will scourge you with scorpions.’ ”
Wise choices;
After consulting with the elders (see last night’s lesson) Rehoboam did not follow that advice. He asked the young men who stood before him to advise him to add the yoke of slavery to those people.
As we live we face various challenges, which we need God's grace to solve. And in solving them, it is important to make wise decisions about the challenges involved. Listen to different people for ideas and advice, seek experience, but most of all ask the Lord for guidance to reach the right decisions.
