SUNDAY 5TH MARCH 2017
THEME: GOD CALLS AND I ANSWER. IF WE DEPEND UPON GOD WE WILL OVERCOME TEMPATIONS.
Psalm 91:11-16, Matthew 4:1-11, 1 Kings 3:4-15
Psalm 91:11-16 New International Version (NIV)
11 For he will command his angels concerning you
to guard you in all your ways;
12 they will lift you up in their hands,
so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.
13 You will tread on the lion and the cobra;
you will trample the great lion and the serpent.
14 “Because he[a] loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him;
I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.
15 He will call on me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble,
I will deliver him and honor him.
16 With long life I will satisfy him
and show him my salvation.”

Jesus Is Tested in the Wilderness
4 Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted[a]by the devil. 2 After fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry.3 The tempter came to him and said, “If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread.”
4 Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’[b]”
5 Then the devil took him to the holy city and had him stand on the highest point of the temple. 6 “If you are the Son of God,” he said, “throw yourself down. For it is written:
“‘He will command his angels concerning you,
and they will lift you up in their hands,
so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.’[c]”
7 Jesus answered him, “It is also written: ‘Do not put the Lord your God to the test.’[d]”
8 Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor. 9 “All this I will give you,” he said, “if you will bow down and worship me.”
10 Jesus said to him, “Away from me, Satan! For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.’[e]”
11 Then the devil left him, and angels came and attended him.

1 Kings 3:4-15New International Version (NIV)
4 The king went to Gibeon to offer sacrifices, for that was the most important high place, and Solomon offered a thousand burnt offerings on that altar. 5 At Gibeon the Lord appeared to Solomon during the night in a dream, and God said, “Ask for whatever you want me to give you.”
6 Solomon answered, “You have shown great kindness to your servant, my father David, because he was faithful to you and righteous and upright in heart. You have continued this great kindness to him and have given him a son to sit on his throne this very day.
7 “Now, Lord my God, you have made your servant king in place of my father David. But I am only a little child and do not know how to carry out my duties. 8 Your servant is here among the people you have chosen, a great people, too numerous to count or number. 9 So give your servant a discerning heart to govern your people and to distinguish between right and wrong. For who is able to govern this great people of yours?”
10 The Lord was pleased that Solomon had asked for this. 11 So God said to him, “Since you have asked for this and not for long life or wealth for yourself, nor have asked for the death of your enemies but for discernment in administering justice, 12 I will do what you have asked. I will give you a wise and discerning heart, so that there will never have been anyone like you, nor will there ever be. 13 Moreover, I will give you what you have not asked for—both wealth and honor—so that in your lifetime you will have no equal among kings. 14 And if you walk in obedience to me and keep my decrees and commands as David your father did, I will give you a long life.” 15 Then Solomon awoke—and he realized it had been a dream.
He returned to Jerusalem, stood before the ark of the Lord’s covenant and sacrificed burnt offerings and fellowship offerings. Then he gave a feast for all his court.
God appeared to King Solomon in a dream. God gave Solomon the chance to ask for whatever he wanted. Solomon asked for wisdom to rule the people and God was pleased with his request and gave Solomon great wisdom.
God has called each one of us to follow Him. Each of us has been given a special task in life. Pray that God will give you wisdom and ability to serve Him faithfully.

WAZO KUU: MUNGU ANAITA NAMI NITAJIBU. TUKIMTEGEMEA MUNGU TUTASHINDA MAJARIBU
Zaburi 91:11-16, Mathayo 4:1-11, 1 Falme 3:4-15
Zaburi 91:11-16
15 Ataniita nami nitamwitikia; Nitakuwa pamoja naye taabuni, Nitamwokoa na kumtukuza;
16 Kwa siku nyingi nitamshibisha, Nami nitamwonyesha wokovu wangu.
Mathyo 4:1-11
7 Yesu akamwambia, Tena imeandikwa, Usimjaribu Bwana Mungu wako.
9 akamwambia, Haya yote nitakupa, ukianguka kunisujudia.
10 Ndipo Yesu alipomwambia, Nenda zako, Shetani; kwa maana imeandikwa, Msujudie Bwana Mungu wako, umwabudu yeye peke yake.
11 Kisha Ibilisi akamwacha; na tazama, wakaja malaika wakamtumikia.
1 Falme 3:4-15
11 Mungu akamwambia, Kwa kuwa umeomba neno hili, wala hukujitakia maisha ya siku nyingi; wala hukutaka utajiri kwa nafsi yako; wala hukutaka roho za adui zako; bali umejitakia akili za kujua kuhukumu;
