As Christians we are no longer slaves to sin although we do sometimes still sin. We are free to serve Christ and to do what is right. This includes being good citizens of our country and respecting the government which God has put in place.

The above words are a letter sent by the Apostles in Jerusalem to Gentile Christians living in Antioch. This letter was in answer to a dispute which had arisen as to whether or not Christians from a nonjewish background should also keep Jewish laws and be circumcised.

In many places in the Gospels we read about the Pharisees being in conflict with Jesus. The Pharisees were Jewish religious leaders who strictly kept the Old Testament religious laws.
Our God is mighty and powerful. He made the Universe and everything in it. God sustains everything. Our lives are in His hands. Let us seek His guidance every day. God is also merciful and patient. He does not punish us as we deserve because of our sins.
